Originating from Osório, a small coastal town in the Rio Grande do Sul, Tiago Braga is a designer who is distinguished by his connection with the ancestral culture and artisanal traditions of the region. His creative journey began in Porto Alegre, where he developed his potential as artistic director, graphic designer and set designer for major brands.

In 2019, he decided to return to his roots, looking for more meaning and purpose for his work. He founded Oiamo, a reinterpretation of the "origalê" gaúcha tradition, combining contemporary design with ancestral artisanal techniques. Oiamo was officially recognized by the World Association for Sustainable Development (GSA) for the Kyoto Global Design Awards 2023 in the "Best 100" category and won the Hornancini Design Award in the Economic and Cultural Impact category.

Tiago Braga's methodology, called Ancestral Design, is based on its connection with the immaterial culture manifested in ancestral craft techniques and the southern way of life. His projects explore diverse skills and competencies, combining ideas and experiences in an innovative and sustainable way. Oiamo's creations value the plurality of thoughts and enrich artisanal traditions, expanding memories beyond the cultivated territory.
