Caroliny :

Born in Brazil, Caroliny has always been involved in the arts. Initially trained as a classical ballet and contemporary dance performer, she later pursued a career as a visual artist and contemporary tapestry designer. She then pursued her academic journey, culminating in her thesis titled "Instantaneous Fragments - A Study of Bergsonian Cinematic Mechanism in Marcel Duchamp's Painting Nude Descending a Staircase," for which she was awarded the "Vedette UFU" prize in 2013. Her desire to merge theory and practice led her to France in 2015 to work on her art theory thesis under the supervision of Professor Georges Didi-Huberman at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS). Additionally, she underwent training at Drouot as a specialized art market consultant to promote Brazilian historical design in France.

With a Ph.D. in art theory, Caroliny offers profound expertise in the aesthetic and conceptual analysis of artworks displayed in the gallery. Her academic background can enlighten visitors about the artistic and philosophical influences that have shaped Brazilian historical and contemporary design.

 Vladimir:

Vladimir Matis, co-founder of Galerie Brazil Modernist, combines expertise in urban planning with a passion for the arts. His unconventional journey, starting from adolescence in Saint-Ouen, Drouot, and galleries, has enriched his unique perspective on the art market and the value of artistic objects.

His urban planning background brings a unique dimension to the gallery, allowing for an in-depth analysis of the spatial and architectural context that shaped the Brazilian modernist movement. This enriched perspective is reflected in the meticulous selection of design pieces that transcend mere functionality to incorporate elements related to space and urbanity, offering visitors a distinctive aesthetic and intellectual experience.

With his academic background and practical experience in the art market, Vladimir Matis embodies the passion and expertise necessary to promote and showcase Brazilian historical design. His approach as a gallerist aims to share his passion for the arts with the public while actively contributing to the enrichment of artistic and cultural dialogue.
