Caroliny:

Born in Brazil, Caroliny Pereira has always been immersed in the arts. Initially trained as a classical ballet and contemporary dancer, she later became a visual artist and contemporary tapestry creator before pursuing academic research. Her dissertation, "Instantaneous Fragments - A Study of the Bergsonian Cinematic Mechanism in Marcel Duchamp’s Nude Descending a Staircase", earned her the "Destaque UFU" award in 2013.

In 2015, she moved to France to pursue her PhD in Art Theory under the supervision of Professor Georges Didi-Huberman at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). Seeking to bridge theory and practice, she completed a specialized training program at Drouot, focusing on the art market, with the aim of promoting Brazilian historical design in France.

Holding a PhD in Art Theory, Caroliny brings an in-depth expertise in the aesthetic and conceptual analysis of the works exhibited at the gallery. Her academic background offers visitors valuable insights into the artistic and philosophical influences that have shaped both historical and contemporary Brazilian design.

Vladimir:

Co-founder of Galeria Brazil ModernistVladimir Matis combines his expertise in urban planning with a deep passion for the arts. His unique career path, which began in his teenage years at Saint-Ouen, Drouot, and various art galleries, has allowed him to develop a distinctive perspective on the art market and the value of artistic objects.

His urban planning background provides the gallery with a unique analytical approach, enabling a deep understanding of the spatial and architectural context that shaped the Brazilian modernist movement. This enriched perspective is reflected in the meticulous selection of design pieces that transcend mere functionality, integrating elements related to space and urbanism, thereby offering visitors a unique aesthetic and intellectual experience.

With both an academic background and practical experience in the art market, Vladimir Matis has established his role as a gallerist with the intent of sharing his passion for the arts with the public, while actively contributing to the enrichment of artistic and cultural dialogue.
